Management BCC/AK-SCC: The in-between
Presented by George Martin, MD
Practical strategies for dermoscopy-guided management across the AK–SCC in situ–SCC/BCC spectrum. Emphasizes field cancerization therapy over spot cryotherapy; painless simultaneous-illumination PDT with vitamin D optimization; tirbanibulin’s short, low-irritation regimen; supercharged 5-fluorouracil with calcipotriol or imiquimod; selective PDT for SCC in situ and superficial BCC; CO2 laser for lips; maintenance approaches.

Learning objectives
After completing this module, you should be able to:
- Outline a management approach for lesions, based on their clinical and dermoscopic morphology.
- Discuss the armamentarium of treatments available for managing actinic keratosis and for prevention (including chemoprevention) of skin cancer.
- Summarize the pivotal role of Dermoscopy as the gateway not only into improved diagnostic accuracy but also improvements in management, treatment, and appropriate use of ancillary tests/devices such as digital monitoring, reflectance confocal microscopy, and gene expression profiling.
This faculty-led module is part of the American Dermoscopy Certificate Program. Enrolled members watch the full lecture and claim CME credit on completion.
