Dermoscopy CME module
Benign neoplasms III: CCA, JXG, sebaceous/other adnexal etc.
Presented by Christian Navarrete, MD
Review of dermoscopic clues to uncommon benign adnexal tumors: CCA shows linear string-of-pearls vessels; JXG a setting sun (nonspecific). Poroma features branched vessels with rounded cherry-blossom endings. Sebaceous hyperplasia shows yellow-white popcorn globules with peripheral crown vessels. Highlights melanoma/SCC mimics, porokeratosis keratin rim, and biopsy necessity; dermoscopy aids molluscum differentiation.

Learning objectives
After completing this module, you should be able to:
- Identify the features associated with melanocytic and non-melanocytic malignancies and identify the features to help differentiate them from benign lesions.
- Outline a management approach for lesions, based on their clinical and dermoscopic morphology.
- Summarize the pivotal role of Dermoscopy as the gateway not only into improved diagnostic accuracy but also improvements in management, treatment, and appropriate use of ancillary tests/devices such as digital monitoring, reflectance confocal microscopy, and gene expression profiling.
This faculty-led module is part of the American Dermoscopy Certificate Program. Enrolled members watch the full lecture and claim CME credit on completion.
